The Process Behind Building Stronger Signal
We’ve been refining our process for over 35 years. It works—because it’s built on real-world experience. No two buildings are the same, and no webform can anticipate every challenge. That’s why we invite you to give us a call or send a quick email. A few minutes of conversation can save days of guesswork.
Our goal is to make the quoting and system design process clear, efficient, and as predictable as possible. Here’s what to expect when working with Criterion Cellular—from your first call to system commissioning.

Before We Continue
- You must have good to very good signal outside your building on all the carriers you want to bring inside.
- We're assuming your building is approximately 25,000 to 150,000 square feet. (Larger facilities can be accommodated—just ask.)
- You'll need blueprints or floor plans available—or can help us locate them.
Project Flow Overview
Information Collection
We start by gathering details about your building, goals, and coverage requirements.
Layout Design
Based on your drawings, we create a tailored system layout using our in-house tools.
Quote
You receive a detailed proposal including components, pricing, and design notes.
Order Acceptance
Once the quote is approved, we finalize payment and shipping arrangements.
Equipment Shipment
Gear is shipped from our distribution network. You verify contents on arrival.
Installation
Your low-voltage contractor installs the system following our schematics.
Commissioning
We walk you through system activation and fine-tune for optimal performance.
Questions We May Ask
The more we know, the better we can design your system. Based on your drawings and answers to our initial questions, we may ask about:
- Building construction materials (concrete, steel, glass, lead, etc.)
- Presence of interior concrete or steel walls
- Total number of floors and which floors require coverage
- Any lead-lined walls (common in hospitals or imaging centers)
- Areas you specifically do not want to cover
- Presence of skylights
- Location of a central phone/server room—ideally on the top floor—for amplifier placement
System Layout and Design
Once we have your building drawings, we’ll use internal software and AI tools to develop a system layout optimized for performance and efficiency. We’ll generate a proposed layout showing equipment locations and cable paths.
You’ll be asked to review the proposed layout. If revisions are needed, we’ll work with you to refine the design. After your approval, we’ll prepare a formal quote valid for 30 days. The quoting process can take a day to several weeks depending on system complexity and unique building features.
Order and Equipment Shipment
Once the quote is accepted and payment is arranged, we begin fulfillment. Equipment may ship from multiple locations, so you’ll want to verify contents upon delivery.
Installation and Commissioning
Your licensed low-voltage contractor will install the system using the provided schematics and documentation. Once installed and verified, it’s time to power up and commission the system. Final adjustments are made to ensure performance meets design expectations.
Timeline Expectations
Depending on project size, the full process—from first call to final commissioning—typically ranges from 2 weeks to 1.5 months. While this timeline can vary, we’ll guide you through each step with clarity and communication.
